T28 Prot | How to Play It?

Hi,
I chose the Caernarvon while my dad chose the T28 Prot, and while I'm doing well in the Caernarvon, my dad is really struggling in the T28 Prot. I suggested that he play it as a heavy tank considering its armor, but that doesn't seem to be working, especially since almost every game is against tier 9 and 10 tanks. How would you guys suggest playing it?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
